MODULAR LINES FOR AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENTS MANUFACTURINGThe research and the consequent mechanical design development are focused on the field of precision machining applied to special extruded aluminum profiles, having typical application in the automotive sector. The main feature of this application is the need to perform extremely repeatable and precise machining operations on pieces with high production batches starting from aluminum profiles of complex and diverse geometries that must coexist in the production processes of the target plant.
The goal is to develop a production process consisting of multiple modular, interconnected automatic machines, with automatic feeding, self-diagnostics and recognition of non-conformities in the machining, equipped with a simple and flexible interface for the operator, to allow a guided and effective intervention.
The activities concern the study and identification of technical knowledge, tools and technologies to solve the specific problems identified in the reference market; the study, modeling and design of the solutions of the aforesaid problems in order to produce plans, projects or designs for new, modified or improved products, processes or services, to proceed to the development and testing of the designed technological solutions.
The project has been financed by POR FESR 2014-2020 – Activity 1.3.a DGR 1232/2017; allowed financial support: € 181.014,00
